What can make you the best data storyteller?

As a data storyteller, you need to understand how to turn data into a story. More importantly, how to choose the right data and visual it in the right way to tell a story that will steal your audience attention. A good story will defiantly blow your audience’s minds, increase their empathy, connectedness, and attention.
Here are 2 tips will make you inelegantly tell a story with data.

Think about your audience:  A smart data storyteller should first think about the audience and what they know about the topic. The language and the visualization tools should be framed around the level of information the audience already has.

Tell what the data says not what you want to say: Sometimes working with data more specifically with numbers can be a nightmare. However, as a data storyteller, you need to familiarize yourself with numbers and draw these numbers in a graph or chart that translates the numbers in words to make sense of the numbers for the audience. A visualization should be devoid of bias. Even if it is arguing to influence, it should be based upon what the data says–not what you want it to say.
